PRESERVING HEALTH AND VITALITY
Time passes so quickly...
When a dog has his or her 7th birthday or you have celebrated the fact that your cat has turned 9, our Vets recommend that these beloved family members undergo a thorough senior wellness exam. This will include a detailed discussion about your pet's lifestyle and health, a physical examination, an evaluation for pain or discomfort, a nutritional discussion, and a diagnostic work-up.

Even though you may believe your pet is normal, there are many disease processes that do not show any outward signs until the condition is quite advanced. More advanced diseases can be more difficult to address and are not always as responsive to treatment as when we are able to start the fight early.

Early detection of conditions such as dental disease, kidney disease, thyroid disease, etc. will allow us to administer the appropriate treatments to help extend your pet's life and improve their comfort level. Arthritis can be addressed with special foods and supplements in the early stages and joint pain can be prevented if we find the signs early.

Many symptoms that historically have been attributed to old age and considered untreatable are now treatable. For example, some dogs that appear to have lost their mental alertness can be returned to a mental status indicative of a younger age using appropriate therapy.
Please feel free to contact us to discuss our senior wellness program in more detail.
