Kitten Care

STARTING THEM OFF RIGHT ....
Our kitten wellness program is designed to offer your new kitten all the benefits of veterinary services available from 6-8 weeks up to 16 weeks of age.
  • Immunity and Parasite Prevention/Treatment: Included in this service is a series of examinations and vaccinations including rabies, panleukopenia (also known as feline distemper), leukemia, etc. In addition, your kitten will be tested for worms and be treated for the most common intestinal worm of kittens -> roundworms. This parasite can also cause disease in people. Roundworms can cause your kitten to vomit and / or experience diarrhea; however, it is possible for your kitten to have roundworms and not show any signs of harbouring the worms. A microscopic fecal examination will allow us to evaluate the presence of these worms. The examination will also look for other types of worms that can affect your kitten.
  • Nutritional Assessment and Recommendation: The only health care treatment that we are able to provide to our pets on a daily basis is food. There are critical decisions to be made about diet both in the critical growth phase and as cats age to ensure that we avoid preventable diseases. Your vet can also help you to make the food choices to keep your cat lean and healthy as they age.
  • Spaying and Neutering: Please ask your Vet about these procedures and their behavioural and health benefits for the furry felines that share our homes.
