If your pet needs physical rehabilitation, our team can curate a treatment program that may include additional therapies specifically designed to meet your pet's needs. This multimodal approach provides greater opportunity for a successful outcome. Once we have a referral from your diagnosing veterinarian, we will work with you to keep your pet comfortable and improve mobility. Please give us a call at 905-683-6430 to schedule a rehabilitation consultation.
What is rehabilitation?
Physical rehabilitation involves the management of patients with painful or functionally limiting conditions - particularly those with injury or illness related to the neurologic and musculoskeletal systems. The goal of rehabilitation is to achieve the highest level of function, independence and quality of life possible for the patient.
What does the Rehabilitation Assessment appointment cover?
This one-hour appointment will include the following:
- a history consultation
- stance and weight-bearing analysis
- gait evaluation (walking and trotting if able)
- strength testing
A full manual assessment of your pet's muscles, joints, spine, tendons and ligaments will be performed to highlight areas of injury and pain, decreased range of motion and muscle atrophy. Based on the findings, a comprehensive and detailed treatment and exercise program will be devised and shared with you.
We will work with you to achieve success and help keep your pet fit for life!
