Behavioural Counselling

Helping you discover the root cause of your pet's unwanted behaviours.

Even though we love our pets, there may be times when their behaviour becomes a problem. Many pet owners notice disruptive behaviours in their pets that they can't manage on their own. Our behaviour consultant Dr. Ehrlich can address your concerns during a counselling session. Behavioural counselling is designed to help pet parents establish healthier habits in their pet. If you're having a difficult time controlling your pet it's time to book a consultation at 905-683-6430.

What behavioural issues can your team assist with?

Occasionally, it's normal for your loyal companion to be naughty during playtime, however when their behaviour becomes dangerous it's time to seek out a behaviourist. We address the following issues:

  1. Separation Anxiety
  2. Fear and Dominance Aggression
  3. House-soiling (urinary accidents)
  4. Hiding or whining
  5. Excessive barking or growling

How will behavioural counselling help my pet?

This consultation can be beneficial to both you and your pet. Trying to fix your pet issues on your own can be quite frustrating and even scary. During your pet's appointment the doctor will go through your pet's routine, health history and environment to determine what is causing your pet to act out. Your pet's behaviours can stem from pain, lack of stimulation, changes in their environment, nutrition, anxiety and more. Once we've established the root cause we can determine what techniques can help. In some cases medication can also help create better communication and a healthier environment for you and your pet.

We also provide puppy training to help new pet owners with their pet before a behavioural pattern is established. Ask our team about Paws-itive Puppies to learn more about this service.
