Dr. Karyn Jones DVM

Dr. Karyn Jones joined the team at Ajax Animal Hospital as a veterinarian in 2001. It seemed meant to be since she has worked with us since 1987 as student veterinary assistant while attending Ajax High School.

Dr. Jones' passion for veterinary medicine  also includes involvement in Professional Associations, Editorial/Advisory Boards, including 2 terms as the President of the Ontario Veterinary College Alumni Association and ongoing advisory positions at the OVC Primary Healthcare Centre, OVC Pet Trust and the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.

Becoming a veterinarian reflects a life-long fascination and dedication to the well-being of all animals. After achieving an honours degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Guelph, Karyn spent two years as the coordinator of a wildlife education and rehabilitation centre in Ottawa.

During her time at OVC, she pursued her special interests in Pain Control and Anesthesia, Soft Tissue Surgery and Exotic/wild animal medicine. Her dedication to providing dental care for pets is unique and an important part of her practice. She also loves the challenge and reward of caring for Sport Dogs and addressing their unique medical needs.

In 2017, melding and building on these interests, Dr. Jones completed her training at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and Colorado State University to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.  Conveniently, the Rehabilitation Service includes an assessment room, exercise gym and underwater treadmill next door at Ajax Animal Rehabilitation!

Karyn cherishes the time that she spends with Scott and Wyatt. Their home is shared with Ilene and Trynity, two gorgeous 3 legged cats (both AAH adoptees)!  You may have already met Zelda, her adorable long-haired miniature dachshund (who comes to work every day with her mom)!
